Riley May Evans

riley’s origins lie in gaia online. more specifically, they lie in one of the many gaia online character creators that used to roam the internet. i don’t recall which one now; riley’s been around for years. i still have a picture of the original outfit i came up with for them, in fact!

the secret behind riley’s eyepatch wasn’t decided on until a few years after their initial conception. i commissioned a sketch of them with tentacles coming out of their eye socket, loved it, and decided they housed part of an god in there. they made a deal to gain “knowledge beyond their reach”, which translated into the ability to read minds. they have to keep that god piece suppressed though, or else… who knows? i sure as hell don’t.

okay, so riley’s still not super well defined. but they mean a lot to me! i love them like they were my own. which i guess in a way they are. teehee!

riley underwent a slight redesign a few years back, changing their ringlets into simple wavy hair pieces. the ringlets were too hard for me to draw. now that i’m a better artist, i might be able to bring them back, but we’ll see. looking at these drawings, too, makes me realize that they lost their beauty mark along the way! i guess something just got lost in translation between the gaia online avatar and the actual character.

riley is pretty friendly overall, but a bit of a know-it-all. they like to think they have all the answers. they work at a dress shop and spend their free time designing new outfits, mostly for themself but sometimes for friends too. they tend to be pretty chill, not quick to raise their voice or lash out, but they're a force to be reckoned with when they hit their limit. they're very nosy, but they try not to use their mind-reading powers to satisfy that too much. they will do it on occasion, though.

riley has pale skin and constant heavy blushing. they won’t tell anyone whether its makeup or real blush. (it’s real.) they have blond hair in big, bushy pigtails that are usually tied with black bows. they have two wavy chunks of hair framing their face. their right eye is covered by a fashionable eyepatch, while their left is pale green with light pink sclera.

riley is pretty fashionable! their fashion tends to skew more on the feminine side; they're often seen wearing a skirt of some kind. they often have bare shoulders. they wear heavy eyeliner and mascara and they always have some kind of lipstick on. they almost always have some pink on them, but the other colors can vary.

they have two "main" outfits that i've designed, but i'd love to design more for them! the first outfit features a blue and pink eyepatch, a white cropped button-up with a blue ribbon, a pink skirt, blue socks, and black flats. the second has a brown and pink eyepatch, a dark brown vest over a white sleeveless button-up, a brown skirt, white gloves, pale brown leggings, and brown shoes with pink bows.
