a cool place for kids to hang

fun times

howdy y'all! it's been a bit of a busy month haha. well, this week was busy, at least. i've been having a pretty good time either way! i'm excited to talk about what's been going on in my life.

i'm for sure getting my bachelor's after i get my AAS. what school i'm gonna get my bachelor's at is still up in the air, but for the best job prospects i should really get a bachelor's. i'm not too upset about this; i really like learning and college has been a pretty good environment for me to do that in. i wasn't great with high school for a variety of reasons, but i've been enjoying college!

speaking of my AAS, i finish up my classes next week! graduation isn't until spring, but i get my diploma right away. i'm excited to be done with school for a little while haha. i'm hopefully gonna be working on personal projects during that time! i'd like to work more on my website and get some more games under my belt. we'll see what the future holds!

i had a great holiday week! i visited family again, which was especially nice because i wasn't able to go celebrate my cousin's birthday a couple weeks before. my mom and i usually spend thanksgiving at home alone, so it was nice to not only leave the house but be around people. i think i don't really seem like it, but i'm a pretty social guy. it was not great hearing people be transphobic, but it didn't happen much haha. we went down on wednesday and just came home this morning, so i'm pretty beat.

i watched kpop demon hunters again while i was there and MAN was i hyped. i forgot just how much i like it. i was dying during your idol. i love watching stuff with people. the day after thanksgiving we also watched a bunch of old christmas specials while my cousins decorated.

while i was there, one of my cousins finally convinced me to make the switch to linux. i've been wanting to for a while, but i've been really nervous about it haha. with windows getting worse and worse, though, i really think it's about time i get out of there. everything i need to do can be done on linux, and the games i actually play should work just fine too. i've been an official linux girlie for a few hours now and i'm liking using it full time! i don't have it all prettified yet, but it'll get there. if i can get it looking really nice i'll put a screenshot in my next post

i've gotten really into playing slay the spire again. i used to prefer playing the silent and the defect, but lately i've been enjoying the ironclad. i'm actually really bad at playing the silent now for some reason??? weird. i might just be out of practice. i've never been super good at this game, but it's a ton of fun and i win just enough for it to feel rewarding. not to mention it's pretty fun even when you lose.

i've bought a ton of games these past few weeks too! the only two of those i've played so far are he is coming and shelldiver. he is coming is a really fun roguelike where every three in-game days you fight a new boss and you spend the in-between time picking up and upgrading equipment. its art style is pretty striking too, very simple pixel art. shelldivers is a cute incremental game where you dive for and sell jellyfish. you use the shells and scrap you collect to upgrade. i can't wait to play the rest of my new games too!

i think that's all the news i've got for today's post. i'll try to get back to work on the main site soon. thanks for reading!
